On Thursday, September 25th more than 40 entrepreneurs and their companies gathered at Plug and Play Tech Center in Sunnyvale, California.
The event started off with a fantastic down to earth and grounded talk by Scott McNeally. He emphasized honesty and timeless values and who knew he was a standup comedian. When the laptop was having technical difficulties he really entertained the crowd and had us cracking up.
Then we moved on to extreme pitching. More than forty companies demoed their products and ideas at Thursday’s Plug and Play Expo in Sunnyvale, CA. In a segment called “Extreme Pitching” entrepreneurs were given two minutes each to pitch their idea to an audience of about 200 which included investors, VC’s, industry professionals and other start ups. No Power Point slides or high tech gadgets, just the presenter and their pitch to convey their message in hopes of connecting with someone who will vote for them for the top 3 companies. The top 3 companies then got a ten minute pitch in which they can present and use their Power Point slides to further convey their message.
Three companies were selected stood out as the best to the VC judges & industry professionals: Apprema, Paxterra Solutions, and Travelfli.
